About Course
This hands-on workshop will equip participants with practical skills in motion capture, force analysis, strength testing, and anthropometry. This course bridges the gap between theory and real-world application, helping professionals refine their assessment techniques for rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
PRE-REQUISITE: "FUNDAMENTALS OF BIOMECHANICS" COURSE IS RECOMMENDED BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THIS COURSE!
While many clinicians understand biomechanical principles in theory, the true power comes from applying these concepts through modern assessment technologies. This intensive 2-day workshop provides direct, hands-on experience with motion capture systems, force plates, dynamometry, and anthropometric measurement tools that are revolutionizing clinical assessment. You'll learn to collect, process, and interpret biomechanical data that informs diagnosis, tracks progress, and optimizes treatment outcomes.
Key Learning Pillars:
1) Motion Capture Technology - Master 2D motion capture for posture, gait, squat, and jump analysis with equipment setup, data collection, processing, and clinical interpretation.
2) Force Analysis - Learn to use force plates for balance assessment, ground reaction force measurement, and movement quality evaluation.
3) Strength Assessment - Compare manual muscle testing with handheld dynamometry for objective, reliable strength measurement.
4) Anthropometry & Error Analysis - Apply measurement techniques, understand sources of error, and troubleshoot common assessment challenges.

Meet the Instructor
Dr. Gayatri Suresh PT
MPT Biomechanics Head of Research, Physiosimplified
Dr. Gayatri Suresh (PT) is a highly accomplished biomechanist and sports scientist, currently serving as the Lead Sports Scientist at the Centre for Sports Science, Kanteerava Stadium. With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and research, she specializes in applying biomechanics to optimize human movement, prevent injuries, and enhance return-to-sport outcomes.
A University Gold Medalist in her Master’s in Physiotherapy (Biomechanics), Dr. Gayatri brings a deep academic rigor combined with real-world application. Her work involves advanced kinematic and kinetic analysis, neuromuscular training, and performance assessment across diverse populations including elite athletes, para-athletes, and the general population.
She has also contributed extensively to academia as a Visiting Faculty, where she taught biomechanics, kinesiology, and research methodology, while mentoring students in hands-on lab-based learning using motion capture systems and force analysis tools.
Dr. Gayatri’s unique approach integrates biomechanics with pain neuroscience and functional rehabilitation, making her teaching highly practical, evidence-based, and clinically relevant. Her experience in leading national-level sports science projects and research further enriches her ability to bridge theory with real-world application.
