Course Content
Introduction to surface anatomy: This section will provide an overview of the basic principles of surface anatomy and how it relates to the underlying structures of the body. Students will learn how to identify key surface landmarks and how to use these landmarks to locate underlying structures.
Techniques for accurate palpation: This section will cover the proper techniques for palpation, including how to use the fingers and hands to feel for different structures, such as bones, muscles, tendons, and nerves. Students will learn how to use palpation to identify different types of tissue and how to locate specific structures within the body.
Identification of key surface landmarks: This section will focus on the identification of key surface landmarks for the upper and lower extremities, the trunk and the head and neck region. It will include the identification of bones, muscles, tendons, and other structures that can be felt on the body's surface.
Practice sessions for locating muscles, bones, and neurovascular structures: This section will include hands-on practice sessions where students can locate and identify various structures on the surface of the body. These practice sessions will be tailored to the level of the students and will include a variety of different techniques and exercises.
